Will Google Ban Your Website? Onpage Factors
People often complain in search engine optimization forums that their websites have been expelled from Google and they do not have any idea why their website is not present in Google.
What are the things one should not do while optimizing the onpage
ranking factors? How can you be sure whether you have been banned or
not?
There are times when people feel they have been banned by Google but the fact is they have been dropped in ranking.
-
Check search results of Google
- Just View the Google toolbar
You can enter a URL in the search box of Google and click search. If no
information is available for the given URL, it shows that the URL does
not exist in the database of Google. If you enter a new website, you
will definitely see the message since the site has not been indexed.
Viewing Google Toolbar is yet another way of checking whether the website has been banned.
The moment the Google Toolbar is installed, just visit your website. If
you find the Google Toolbar to be completely gray, it means that the
site have been banned by Google.
What can cause your website to get banned?
There are both onpage ranking factors and offpage ranking factors that can lead Google to ban your site.
Hidden Text
Hidden Texts are those which the users cannot see while visiting your
webpage. This is often adopted by the webmasters since they can add
keywords in the entire webpage without it interfering with what the
visitors actually see. If you click on the "ctrl + a" on the keyboard
then the hidden text can be easily seen. You will see the keywords that
want to rank well and want the search engines to check when they first
visit the site.
Alt image tag spamming
This is yet another method to stuff keywords in the website, allowing
the search engines to check the keywords, but preventing the visitors
to notice any difference within the website. The prime function of an
alt image tag is when the user visits the website and the graphic does
not load, or it is disabled by the web browser, instead of graphic, the
text appears. However, you must avoid Alt image spamming.
Meta Tag Stuffing
There is no necessity of using thousands of same exact keywords into
the Meta tags. Google does not use Meta Tags while ranking websites.
This may cause Google to penalize you. So it is best to stay away from
them.
Title Tag Stuffing
In the title tag, just use the keyword for once since if you overdo the
keyword, the site may be banned from the search engines.
